Open enrollment for PSPRS-plan retirees and beneficiaries coming soon

Open enrollment for PSPRS-plan retirees and beneficiaries coming soon
Health, dental plan enrollment info for ASRS/ADOA coverage

Annual enrollment for retiree and beneficiary health and dental insurance elections for 2027 coverage begins in mid-October but registration times and process differ for those covered by plans administered by the Arizona State Retirement System and the Arizona Department of Administration.

All retirees and beneficiaries should use the open enrollment period to review, and, if necessary, change their coverage. Open enrollment is the only time that coverage changes can be made without the experience of qualified life events.

If retirees wish to continue coverage: Good news! No action is required. Retirees with coverage will automatically be reenrolled in the new plans for 2027. Simply review guides for updated plan and premium information.

If retirees wish to begin or change coverage: Review all options. Keep an eye out for emails from ASRS and/or ADOA, and enrollment packets mailings mid-late October. PSPRS/ASRS and ADOA enrollment packets detail directions, plans and costs. If you do not receive your enrollment packet by October 27, please visit https://www.psprs.com to download the information or contact us.

New this year, online enrollment will be available through STARS from Nov. 1 – 30 for PSPRS/ASRS coverage. Retirees and beneficiaries who wish to make changes can log into their STARS accounts to access health insurance options or may complete paper enrollment forms, which will be provided in the PSPRS/ASRS enrollment packets and will be made available to download from the PSPRS website. For more information such as details on PSPRS Health Insurance Subsidies visit Health Insurance pages for PSPRS, CORP and EORP retirees.

If retirees/dependents wish to terminate medical or dental coverage at any point, they must contact the applicable agency for instructions. Members discontinuing former employer or ADOA coverage in favor of PSPRS/ASRS medical or dental insurance in 2027 are asked to copy PSPRS on the termination correspondence to their agency. Termination of ADOA must be complete before enrolling in PSPRS/ASRS. Please note that ADOA insurance terminations are irrevocable.

Termination letters should include:

  • Impacted members (spouse or dependents) full name
  • Date of birth
  • Last four numbers of social security number
  • Phone number
  • Plan to be terminated (medical and/or dental)
  • Date coverage should terminate
  • Signature and date signed
  • Signature of spouse/dependent on Medicare if also terminating their coverage
  • Tip: Keep a copy for your reference

Submit to PSPRS (must be received before the first day of the month the insurance is to be cancelled):

  • Email a copy of this letter with your signature to: [email protected]
  • Mail: PSPRS, 3010 E. Camelback Rd., Ste. 200, Phoenix, AZ 85016
